P V Sindhu – An Indian Racquet that smashed the World of Badminton
I am sure that all of you have heard of P V Sindhu, the Indian badminton player. She recently became the first Indian to secure a Gold Medal at the Badminton World Championship, 2019. Sindhu and Saina Nehwal are the only two Indian badminton players ever to win an Olympic medal. But did you know that her parents are professional volleyball players? Pusarla Ventaka Sindhu is the daughter of P. V. Ramana and P. Vijaya from Andhra Pradesh. Her birthday falls on 5 July 1995. Her father was honoured with the Arjuna Award for his excellence in volleyball.
