Harika – the second Indian woman to become a chess grandmaster
Harika is currently, world no.9 and the second Indian woman to be among the top 10 in the world after Koneru Humpy. As contrary to the common belief that the game of chess is apt for people who are calm and composed, Harika is a bubbly person. Playing chess requires a lot of focus and grit. She has accomplished three bronze medals for India at the Women’s World Chess Championship.
