Artificial Neural Networks (ANN)
Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) have been a significant development in the field of AI. In 1954, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Farley and Clark developed a system with 128 neurons capable of memorizing simple patterns and distinguishing one pattern among many. The algorithm was designed so that each neuron could retain the information taught (fed repeatedly) to it by a computer program. The program repeatedly fed various combinations of patterns to the artificial neuron system, enabling it to retain possible combinations of various pattern features. ANN has paved the foundation for machine learning.
