Our nervous system contains millions of neurons. Neurons are microscopic cells that carry information (sensory signals and responses) throughout the nervous system and into the brain. Millions of neurons form a communication network for information to travel across our nervous system. The study of neurons focuses on how the human brain and nervous system work. Each neuron in the brain is a tiny processor, and the brain is a large machine composed of millions of these processors.
