Sixer
Story: Sixer
Shlok had always been fascinated by cricket. The way the players moved gracefully on the field, the sound of the ball hitting the bat, and the roar of the crowd when a sixer was hit. Shlok wanted to learn everything there was to know about the sport.
One day, Shlok’s coach asked him if he was interested in joining the school cricket team. Shlok was thrilled. He had been practicing for months, and he was finally going to get a chance to show what he could do.
Shlok spent hours studying the rules of the game and learning about its history. He also practiced his batting, bowling, and fielding skills. He wanted to make sure that he was the best player he could be.
As the day of the first match approached, Shlok was filled with excitement and nervousness. When he took the field, he felt like he was living a dream. The sound of the crowd cheering, the smell of the grass, and the feeling of the ball in his hands all made him feel alive.
Shlok played his heart out, and the crowd admired his skills. He hit several sixers and took some incredible catches. When the match was over, Shlok’s team had won, and he was named the player of the match.
From that day on, Shlok was hooked. He continued to play cricket and loved every moment of it. He learned that participating in sports was not just about winning, but also about having fun, building friendships, and promoting physical fitness.
Shlok was grateful for the opportunity to play cricket and appreciated the impact it had on his life and the lives of others. He was proud to be part of a community that was passionate about this sport and wanted to share that passion with others.
Poem: The Frozen Rink & the Hockey Stick
A game so fast, with such great skill,
A game that’s played with such a thrill.
A puck that glides across the ice,
The players all move with such great grace.
With sticks in hand and skates so sharp,
The players show us what real heart
Is all about, with every stride,
They play with all their heart and might.
They learn to work as one, a team,
To strive and aim for what they dream.
They push themselves to be their best,
And test their limits, putting life to the test.
For hockey teaches us so much,
It shows us courage, strength and such.
It brings us together, it’s a bond,
One we’ll never forget, beyond.
So let’s hit the rink and lace up tight,
And play with all our heart and might.
For hockey’s not just a game we play,
But a lesson for life, come what may.
