Naturalization is one of the methods of obtaining citizenship. The Central Government may grant a certificate of naturalization to a person if he/she applies for it subject to eligibility criteria under the Citizenship Act, 1955. one of the qualifications is that the person must have resided in India or have been in the service of the central government for at least 11 years before applying for citizenship.
